1 Woe, Land of a craft with wings, which have a passage to the streams of Ethiopia, 2 sending its agents by sea, and in papyrus vessels over the surface of the waters. Go, fleet messengers, to a nation in suspense and trepidation, to a people fearful, from its boundary and beyond, a nation at the confluences of waters and eroding, from which the streams plunder its land. 3 All dwellers of the habitance, and tabernaclers of the earth: As the lifting of a banner on the mountains, you shall see, and as the blowing of a trumpet, you shall hear. 4 For thus says Yahweh to me, I will be quiet, and I will look in My site. As a glossy warmth over the light, as a dense haze of night mist in the day of harvest. 5 For before the harvest, as the bud is spent, and the unripe grape is weaning, the flower is coming. Then he cuts off the shoots with pruners, and the abandoned twigs he takes away when he lops. 6 They will be forsaken together to the bird of prey of the mountains, and to the beast of the earth. And summer on them will the bird of prey, and every beast of the earth will winter on them. 7 In that era, an indemnity shall be fetched to Yahweh of hosts from the people in suspense and trepidation, and from a people fearful, from its boundary and beyond, a nation at the confluences of waters and eroding, from which the streams plunder its land, to the place of the Name of Yahweh of hosts, called mount Zion.
