Zechariah 8

¹ And the word of Yahweh of hosts is coming to me, saying, ² "Thus says Yahweh of hosts: I am jealous over Zion with great jealousy, and with great fury am I jealous over her. ³ Thus says Yahweh: I return to Zion, and I tabernacle in the midst of Jerusalem, and Jerusalem is called the city of truth, and the mountain of Yahweh of hosts, the holy mountain. ⁴ Thus says Yahweh of hosts: Old men and old women shall yet sit in the squares of Jerusalem, and each man with his staff in his hand because of many days; ⁵ and the squares of the city shall be filled with boys and girls sporting in its squares. ⁶ Thus says Yahweh of hosts: In case it is marvellous in the eyes of the remnant of this people in those days, in My eyes, moreover, shall it be marvelous, (averring is Yahweh of hosts). ⁷ Thus says Yahweh of hosts: Behold Me saving My people from the land of the sunrise, and from the land of the setting of the sun. ⁸ And I will bring them, and they shall tabernacle in the midst of Jerusalem, and they become Mine for a people, and I will become theirs for an Elohim, in truth and in righteousness. ⁹ Thus says Yahweh of hosts: Your hands shall be steadfast, you who are hearing these words in these days from the mouth of the prophets, who were in the day the house of Yahweh of hosts was founded, and the temple was to be built. ¹⁰ For before those days when no hire came to the human for profit, and there was no hire for the beast, nor for the one faring forth nor for the one entering; there was no peace from the distresser, and I was sending off every human, each against his associate. ¹¹ Yet now, not as in the former days am I to the remnant of this people, (averring is Yahweh of hosts). ¹² For it is the seed of peace; the vine will give its fruit, and the land will give its crop, and the heavens will give their night mist, and I allot to the remnant of this people all these. ¹³ And it shall come to be, just as you came to be a slight among the nations, house of Judah and house of Israel, so I will save you, and you will become a blessing. You must not fear! Your hands shall be steadfast! ¹⁴ For thus says Yahweh of hosts: Just as I planned to do evil to you, when your forefathers made Me wroth, says Yahweh of hosts, and I did not regret, ¹⁵ so I reverse what I planned, in these days to do good to Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah. You must not fear! ¹⁶ These are the things which you shall do: Speak truth each man with his associate; truth and the judgment of peace, judge in your gateways; ¹⁷ and each man evil to his associate you must not devise in your heart, and a false oath you must not love; for all these I hate, (averring is Yahweh of hosts)." ¹⁸ And the word of Yahweh of hosts is coming to me saying, ¹⁹ "Thus says Yahweh of hosts: The fast of the fourth month, and the fast of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth, shall become to the house of Judah elation and rejoicing and good appointments, and you will exult. Hence love truth and peace! ²⁰ Thus says Yahweh of hosts: Still it shall be that many peoples shall come, and the dwellers of many cities. ²¹ And the dwellers of five cities shall go to another city, saying, We are going assuredly to beseech the face of Yahweh, and to seek Yahweh of hosts; I am going, moreover. ²² And many peoples and staunch nations will come to seek Yahweh of hosts in Jerusalem, and to beseech the face of Yahweh. ²³ Thus says Yahweh of hosts: In those days ten mortals, from all the languages of the nations, will take fast hold. And they will take fast hold of the hem of a man, a Jew, saying, We will go with you, for we hear that Elohim is with you."
