¹ It came to be after the stroke that Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Eleazar son of Aaron the priest, saying. ² Obtain the sum of the whole congregation of the sons of Israel from twenty years old and upward, by their fathers' house, everyone going forth with the militia host in Israel. ³ So Moses and Eleazar the priest spoke with them in the plains of Moab along the Jordan, across from Jericho, saying. ⁴ From twenty years old and upward just as Yahweh had instructed Moses. Each corresponding to their mustered ones shall be given his allotment. ⁵⁵ Only, by lot shall the land be apportioned.
