Hosea 2

(CLV) Hosea 2

1 Say to your brothers, Ammi, and to your sisters, Ruhamah. 2 Contend with your mother, contend, for she is not My wife, and I am not her husband. And she shall take away the signs of her prostitutions from her face, and of her adulteries from between her breasts, 3 lest I should strip her naked and put her forth as on the day of her birth and make her as a wilderness and set her as an arid land and put her to death with thirst. 4 And on her sons I am not having compassion, for sons of prostitution are they. 5 For their mother committed prostitution; she who was pregnant with them caused shame. For she had said, I am going after my lovers, who are giving me my bread and my water, my wool and my flax, my oil and my drinks. 6 Wherefore, behold Me hedging her way with briars, and I dike her with a stone dike, and she will not find her tracks. 7 And she pursues her lovers yet shall not overtake them, and she seeks them yet shall not find them. And she says, I will go and return to my first husband, for it was better for me then than now. 8 Yet she knew not that I gave her the grain and the grape juice and the clarified oil. And I increased silver and gold for her, which they made into a Baal. 9 Wherefore I will return, and I take My grain in its season and My grape juice in its appointment. And I rescue My wool and My flax given to cover her nakedness. 10 And now I will expose her decadence to the eyes of her lovers, and no man shall rescue her from My hand. 11 And I cause all her elation to cease, her celebration and her new moon, and her sabbath, and her every appointment. 12 And I desolate her vine and her fig tree, of which she says, They are a fee for me which my lovers give to me. And I make them a wildwood, and the field life devours them, and the flyer of the heavens and the moving animal of the ground. 13 And I visit on her the days of the Baals, in which she was fuming incense to them and ornamenting herself with her pendant and her eardrop, and she is going after her lovers, and she forgot Me, (averring is Yahweh). 14 Wherefore, behold! I am enticing her, and I conduct her to the wilderness, and I speak to her heart; 15 and I give to her her vineyards thence, and the vale of Achor for a portal of expectation. And she responds there as in the days of her youth, and as the day of her ascension from the land of Egypt. 16 And it comes in that day, (averring is Yahweh), she shall call Me, My Husband, and no longer shall she call Me, My Possessor, 17 and I take away the names of the Baals from her mouth, and no longer shall they be remembered by their name. 18 And I contract for them a covenant in that day with the field life, and with the flyer of the heavens, and the moving animal of the ground. And bow and sword and battle will I break away from the earth, and I will cause them to lie down trustingly. 19 And I will betroth you to Me for the eon, and I will betroth you to Me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in kindness, and in compassions. 20 And I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness; then you shall know that I am Yahweh. 21 And it comes in that day that I will respond, (averring is Yahweh). I will respond with the heavens, and they will respond with the earth, 22 and the earth shall respond with the grain and the grape juice and the clarified oil, and they shall respond with Jezreel. 23 Then I sow her to Myself in the land, and I have compassion on Lo-ruhamah. And I say to Lo-ammi, My people are you! And he is saying, Yahweh, my Elohim are You.
